A mum who is continuing her son’s legacy of love to help others has been honoured with a Pride of Birmingham Award.
Inspirational Harry Moseley raised more than £750,000 for charity after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in 2007.
And since he passed away in 2011, aged just 11, mum Georgina has carried on the work of his Help Harry Help Others charity, which provides support for families affected by the cancer.
Her milestones since Harry passed away include launching an innovative cancer centre in May 2015 after transforming an old council building into a home-from-home for patients.
“To be able to turn a negative experience into a positive for other families is what it is all about,” she said. “I am really proud and I know that Harry will be smiling down.”
The centre offers financial advice, careers support, bereavement counselling, holistic therapies and charity workshops for anyone who needs help.
Pride of Birmingham, in partnership with TSB, honours unsung heroes of all ages who do extraordinary things to help others.
Georgina received her Award at a star-studded dinner hosted by TV presenter and campaigner Katie Piper, and attended by some of the region’s biggest stars.
The judges said: “Harry was a truly remarkable little boy, and it’s so inspirational that his mum is carrying on his work. She’s an amazing woman.”
