ITV Teacher of The Year Award

ITV regional news programmes are inviting their viewers to highlight the achievements of truly exceptional teachers who have made an outstanding contribution to the lives of their pupils.

Viewers will be asked to nominate a teacher with a unique and inspirational approach to their work.

Of course, almost all teachers are talented, hardworking and successful, but we want to hear about the ones that really stand out.

It could be a Nursery Teacher, a Primary School Teacher or a Secondary School Teacher and they could work in state schools or private schools. They might be specialists - travelling around the area - teaching music, art, dance or drama.

ITV regional news programmes will launch their search at 6pm on Monday June 23rd, 2008, with the deadline for nominations, Friday, August 1st, 2008.

You can nominate a teacher to be considered for ITV Teacher Of the Year on this site by clicking the Nominate Now button on the left and submitting the form.

An expert judging panel will select a finalist in each of the ITV regions and they will be invited to attend the glittering Pride of Britain ceremony in London.

The Pride of Britain national judging panel will select the overall winner of ITV Teacher of the Year. The result will be announced first on ITV regional news, in the winner's region, and in the Daily Mirror on Tuesday, September 30, 2008.

The judges decision will be final and no correspondence can be entered into.
